Lunar Eclipse ☾

We were really lucky to get a clear sky tonight. The eclipse started around 9:50pm....and by 10:20pm, the moon was almost eaten up by the sun.....well, almost.

The moon at 10:30pm. This is the closest we can get, mommy regrets not having a more powerful lens as we don't usually get to see the eclipse so clearly.

 Moon at 12midnight. It is no longer red.

According to the chinese myth, the eclipse is form by the heaven dog trying to eat the sun and the moon. However, the dog was afraid of loud noises.....so the villagers tried to scared it away by banging their gongs and drums. The heaven dog is startled by the noise and threw up the sun...followed by the moon that it swallowed. The sun and the moon started to run away, and the heaven dog ran after it. And so, the eating and throwing up of the sun and the moon is also known as the solar eclipse and the lunar eclipse.

Mmm...i wonder if they really taste good? LOL!!
