Mr. Policeman, Don't Shoot My Dog

Came across this disturbing news....A fostered dog named Parrot was shot by policeman at a washington festival. Story here. (Remember Bear-bear?)

Seems to me like there are many trigger happy cops around, i simply don't understand the need to shoot a dog down when there are so many ways to break up a dog fight.
